Case study: Rebranding and marketing for a charming 18th century B&B
Client: Edale House Bed and Breakfast
What we did
The new owners of this charming bed and breakfast in the Forest of Dean came to us in 2017 looking for safe hands to manage their marketing. We developed a new brand identity for them and built them a new website incorporating optimised copy and new photography. We’ve worked with them ever since providing a range of marketing services including copywriting, social media and email marketing.
Branding and messaging
We revitalised Edale House’s brand with a complete rebrand, including a new logo, colour palette, messaging framework and a suite of print materials. The new brand is elegant, clean and inviting, just like the B&B.
Graphic design
Over the years, we have supported the business with professionally designed leaflets, posters and business cards. Our designs also inspired new exterior signage, produced by Fusion Designs, which now proudly marks the front of the building and reinforces the refreshed brand identity.
Copywriting
We created all the content for the new website, from the charming room descriptions to comprehensive guides on the local area. This included highlighting nearby attractions, days out and hidden gems, giving visitors a real sense of the location and helping them plan their perfect stay.
Website design and management
Their previous website was old fashioned, unresponsive, difficult to navigate and cluttered. We worked with them to create a website which shone a light on their fantastic guest house, highlighting its beautiful Forest location, attractive rooms and unique character which includes being dog and cycle friendly.
We integrated Freetobook, their bookings and reviews system, and ensured prospective customers were able to find out everything they needed to know before making a booking.
We also optimised the website for search and hired David Broadbent Photography to photograph the property and create a library of images for us and the owners to use.
We have managed and maintained their website ever since, including writing a range of targeted copy on everything from guides to the area, things to do and blog posts. We redesigned the site in 2024 to update some of the page layouts and homepage banners.
