Chaperoning a very special visitor around the Forest… the Gruffalo!

Ahead of his departure from Beechenhurst, the Gruffalo himself has been taking a tour of the Forest of Dean and it was my turn to chaperone him recently.

As he wends his merry way through the Forest of Dean before he departs for good, he’s been popping in to some of the (best) attractions in the area.

I started off his tour at Harts Barn Cookery School where he made himself useful and helped HIT Training get ready for tonight’s open evening. Ever the keen learner, he also spent a little time with our chefs, picking up a few cookery tips (and possibly sharing one or two of his own).

After exploring the cookery school and Harts Barn Craft Centre, the Gruffalo found time for a little play before treating himself to some well-earned nibbles from the kitchen. It’s safe to say he enjoyed both the sights and the snacks.

As the day drew to a close, I took our furry friend off for a luxurious evening at Brayne Court Bed and Breakfast. They invited us in and showed us around, including the bullet holes from the Civil War in the dining room!

Sweet dreams, Gruffalo. It’s been a pleasure having your company.
